The problem

The brand was getting ready to launch Google Shopping, but Merchant Center had limited where its products could show. A second warning said products would stop showing altogether if the website wasn't improved.

What I did

  • Completed Google's business verification using official registration documents
  • Audited every policy and trust page and found mismatched contact details, a shipping policy accidentally pasted onto the contact page, and an About page missing from the main menu
  • Standardized business information across the site and fixed navigation and links
  • Set up Google Ads and GA4 purchase tracking, and wrote a plain-English handover showing the owner where to find spend, sales, cost per sale and ROAS

The result

Both the Misrepresentation issue and the website warning cleared, so the brand's products could show on Google Shopping and free listings again. The owner has one page explaining where to check results and how to pause a campaign.

What this means for your business

Misrepresentation is usually about trust, not fraud. Google wants to see a real, consistent business. Here's the step-by-step fix.
